Boarding Safety First: Hold On to Handrails Immediately!

The most important safety rule upon boarding: grab a handrail firmly the moment you step on the bus!
Electric buses generate high instant torque, accelerating smoothly but very quickly from stops. If you hesitate in the aisle looking for a seat or search your pockets without holding onto a handrail or stanchion pole, the rapid pull-away can easily throw you off balance. Secure your grip first, then move to your seat.

Boarding and Alighting: Which Door to Use

VinBus follows orderly boarding standards:
• Standard boarding: passengers enter via the front door next to the driver and conductor. Here tickets are purchased, validated, or concession IDs verified.
• Peak times: during crowded rush hours at major bus hubs, conductors may briefly allow passengers to board through the middle doors to speed up boarding and maintain schedules.
• Alighting: passengers always exit through the middle and rear doors.

How to Signal Your Stop: The «STOP» Button

VinBuses do not automatically make empty stops if nobody is waiting curbside. To disembark at your intended station, you must signal the driver in advance.
The cabin is fitted with numerous round red «STOP» buttons on vertical poles, ceiling rails, and side walls. Press the STOP button approximately 150–200 meters before your stop. A chime and dashboard indicator will notify the driver to pull over safely.

Fare Structure and Ticket Prices: Staged Route Pricing

Ticket prices on VinBus are zone-based depending on travel distance:
• 50,000 VND (~$2 USD) — full-distance ticket for an adult passenger across long distances (such as traveling across the island from the south or Duong Dong up to Grand World in the north).
• 20,000 VND (~$0.80 USD) — short-distance ride within a single sector (for example, from Long Beach Center / Market to the Ong Lang beach intersection).

Fares are collected directly on board by the conductor in cash (VND) or via contactless cards/QR.

Free Travel: Children and Senior Citizens

VinBus provides official free-fare exemptions for eligible passengers:
• Children under 1 meter (100 cm) in height travel 100% FREE. A height measuring gauge is located directly at the front entrance door.
• Seniors and elderly travelers also ride FREE upon presenting an ID card or senior citizen document to the conductor.

Rush Hours and Crowds: School Commute Times

VinBus is popular among local residents. Be mindful of island rush hours:
• Morning rush: roughly 06:45 to 07:45 AM, when local schoolchildren and students commute to morning classes.
• Midday & Evening: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and around 05:00 PM, when school shifts change.
During these periods the buses fill up with students and seating may be limited. If you prefer a relaxed, unhurried journey with plenty of open window seats, travel during off-peak hours (09:00–11:00 AM and 01:00–04:00 PM).
